warm mulberries on sidewalks
the concrete stained rich with
flavored faded chalk sketches
from a girl waiting for autumn

sounds like the screams from
scattering leaves & the scent
of a pumpkin’s pimply skin
with a sweet treat of winter

smells like the fading warmth
in Michigan air & the scenes
of a bundled-up girl touching
naked trees in want of spring
