We received 132 entries correctly identifying the Fake Ad for Bespoke Monorail Cars on page 86 of the September issue.
“Cute: including the name of the August winner in the telephone keypad number/letters,” writes Michele Boerman-Postema. “Fun fact: I grew up not far from Pullman (a historic Chicago neighborhood). George M. Pullman’s legacy continues to this day with an educational foundation which funds college scholarships; several generations of our family were grateful recipients. I daresay George himself would be thrilled to design cars for an A2 Rail.”
We also received an entry from a Fake Adder to whom Pullman, bespoke, and even monorail must sound like words from a distant time: “Hello! My name is Niko Akagi. I am 7 years old and I am a second grader at Bach Elementary. (This is my mom’s email). I think that the fake ad is the one that has Pullman Bespoke Monorail Cars. That phone number was tricky! Thank you! Niko”
Terence Groening won our drawing and is taking his gift certificate to Plate Sushi & Chicken.
Don’t forget to visit the Fake Ad Czar at the A2 Community Bookfest at the Ann Arbor District Library Sunday, November 3. The Fake Ad Book’s handy rectangular shape makes it an easy-to-wrap holiday gift.
