In late December, a new T-Mobile store quietly replaced the former RadioShack in Maple Village. Some customers didn’t even notice the change. “A lot of people still come in looking for batteries,” laughs salesman Wesley Rookard.

“No one knows we’re here!” agrees store manager Andy Palazzolo. For the first month, “we didn’t even have a phone line.”

Though branded as T-Mobile, the store is owned by Wireless Vision, which recently bought the downtown T-Mobile store too. All but one of Ann Arbor’s Verizon stores are now under authorized retailers, too–Palazzolo tells us that’s the norm these days.
