July 3 & 6: “Dog Day Afternoon” (Sidney Lumet, 1975). Taut, flamboyant Oscar-winning (for original screenplay) crime drama based on a real-life Brooklyn robbery. Al Pacino plays a hapless bank robber trying to fund his boyfriend’s sex change operation who winds up taking hostages. 7 p.m. (Thurs.) & 1:30 p.m. (Sun.).
