Let’s get the business taken care of first, and then we’ll get to the fun.

We received 130 entries correctly identifying the Fake Ad for Proletariat Bourbon on page 50 of the August Observer. Included among those was this one from Elena Chagnovich: “My dad, an avid bourbon drinker, spotted it from across the kitchen table. At first glance, he thought it was an ad for Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon, since the bottle was the same shape and had an animal on the cork. However, he quickly realized this was a sham!”

Now, the fun. On November 3, the Fake Ad Czar will be at A2 Community Bookfest at the downtown library, signing copies of The Fake Ad Book. Faithful Fake Adders will remember that we had the great good fortune of publishing the book in the early days of the Covid shutdown, which made book signings a bit problematic (for more on the challenges of book tours during pandemics, read Sea of Tranquility, by Emily St. John Mandel, which sold a few more copies than our book). So this is the first time we’ll be able to meet with Fake Ad Nation in person. Please stop by. We’d love to meet you!

Our winner, Mira Sussman, is taking her gift certificate to the Green Things Farm Collective.
