“Wonder Walks”: U-M Matthaei Botanical Gardens
Mar. 5, 9, 19, & 23. One-hour to 90-minute nature walks led by Matthaei naturalists, sometimes preceded by a brief presentation.
Mar. 5 (5:30 p.m.) & 9 (1 p.m.): “Signs of Spring,” walk and learn about 2 harbingers of spring, skunk cabbage and witch hazel.
Mar. 19 (5:30 p.m.): “Vernal Equinox,” a trail walk followed by planting seeds indoors in a pot to take home. If the weather is bad, the event takes place in the conservatory.
Mar. 23 (1 p.m.): “Beaver Tales,” a trail walk to survey all the new beaver activity along Fleming Creek. Kids must be accompanied by an adult. Dress for the weather. Arrival 10 minutes early recommended.
