“Upright Women Wanted”: Ann Arbor District Library 2025 Big Gay Read Author Event
San Francisco–based writer Sarah Gailey discusses their 2020 novel, a queer pulp western, set in a dystopian near future, about a young girl who hides in a librarian’s book wagon to escape from an arranged marriage to a man who was previously engaged to her best friend—a friend who she was in love with and who was just executed for possession of resistance propaganda. Followed by Q&A. The library is also hosting events on July 7, 11, 13, & 20 inspired by the book (see listings). 6–7:30 p.m., AADL Downtown. Free. (734) 327–4200.
