Apr. 10: College of William & Mary Japanese studies professor Tomoyuki Sasaki on “Uneven Development and Rural Decline: The Other Side of Japan’s Economic Miracle.”  

Apr. 17: “Toshio Matsumoto and the Antifascist Avant-Garde.” University of Pennsylvania media studies professor Julia Alekseyeva discusses the work of Japanese documentary filmmaker Matsumoto, best known for his series of "neo-documentary" films from the earlymid 1960s.
