“Top of the Park”: Ann Arbor Summer Festival

See 13 Friday. Tonight in the KidZone and Annex Tent: chalk drawing with popular local street artist David Zinn (5 p.m.), and science activities (4 p.m.) led by Washtenaw Community College staff. On the Power Center Lawn: “Bombay Jam” (5:30 p.m.), a Bollywood dance workout, led by a Miraya Fit instructor. On the O&W Grove Stage: the Ypsilanti monster-themed country band Fangs and Twang (5 p.m.), and Gemily (6 p.m.), the veteran local acoustic duo Gemini with twin brothers Sandor and Laszlo Slomovits and Sandor’s violinist daughter Emily. On the Rackham Stage: the Balkan Paradise Orchestra (7:30 p.m.), an all-female brass & percussion ensemble from Barcelona known for their fresh interpretations of a variety of traditional Balkan folk tunes. Also, 30-minute family-friendly shows at 4:15 & 6:45 p.m. by Squonk (see 20 Friday listing). The music is followed at 9:30 p.m. by a screening of The Wild Robot, Chris Sanders’ 2024 animated adventure about an intelligent robot, stranded on an uninhabited island, who bonds with the native animals and cares for an orphaned baby goose. 4–11 p.m.
