“Top of the Park”: Ann Arbor Summer Festival

See 13 Friday. Tonight in the KidZone: non-competitive kids games (5 p.m.) led by Kidokinetics staff. In the Annex Tent: teen musical acts (5 p.m.) presented by the Neutral Zone. On the Power Center Lawn: a crossfit workout (5:30 p.m.) led by a Fit2Live instructor. On the O&W Grove Stage: Local indie-pop singer-songwriter Lauren Blackford (5 p.m.), and Schmaltz (5:45 p.m.), a local klezmer-funk collective with a repertoire of originals and klezmer (the East European Yiddish party music) classics. On the Rackham Stage: Peter Madcat Ruth’s C.A.R.Ma. Quartet (6:45 p.m.), an all-star ensemble led by world-renowned veteran local harmonica wiz Ruth that plays an eclectic mix of traditional and improvisational music, and Veronica Swift (8 p.m.), a widely acclaimed NYC-based jazz vocalist with a repertoire that runs the gamut from swing and bebop to the Great American Songbook and rock ’n’ roll. The music is followed at 9:30 p.m. by a screening of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Tim Burton’s 2024 comedy horror sequel about a mischievous demon. 5–11 p.m.
