Timothy Monger/Brawny Lad: Acoustic Routes
Double bill. Monger is an engaging veteran local singer-songwriter-guitarist whose pop-rock Americana fuses high lonesome tunes with evocative tales drawn from ordinary life. Allmusic.com calls his 2004 CD, Summer Cherry Ghosts, “a sweetly nostalgic song cycle, filled with sketches of places and people he's loved.” Brawny Lad is the Ypsilanti country-folk and Americana trio of bassist-vocalist Tom McCartan, banjoist Davey Jones, and pedal steel guitarist Tom Green. 8 p.m., Stony Lake Brewing, 447 E.
