Ukrainian-born, Michigan-based translator Myrosia Stefaniuk discusses the life and creative process of this Ukrainian human rights activist who served multiple terms in Soviet labor camps and reads her English translations of his work. Also, Brighton-based musician Mykola Deychakiwsky sings songs Horbal wrote about his imprisonment, accompanying himself on the bandura—a traditional Ukrainian folk instrument similar to a lyre. 5:30–7:30 p.m., AADL Downtown, 4th fl.
