Feb. 2: “The Best of the Best: Jazz from Detroit” (Daniel Loewenthal, 2024). Documentary about Detroit’s jazz scene set against the city’s rise and fall as an industrial power and the struggles and triumphs of its African American community. The film features interviews with many great Detroit jazz musicians. Followed by a Q&A with the screenwriter and producer Mark Stryker.
