The Ann Arbor Art Fair
July 17–19. Our perennial multiday tent city within a city houses more than 1,000 artists, from Michigan and around the nation, in 3 separate fairs. Also, live music (see daily Art Fair Entertainment listings, beginning below), glass blowing demos at E. Washington & Ingalls Mall (1–4 p.m., Thurs.–Sat.), a collaborative street chalk mural (Maynard & William), live ceramics demos by the Ann Arbor Potters Guild (various times, Thurs.–Sat., Hill Auditorium lawn), circus acts (11 a.m.–5 p.m., Thurs.–Sat., State & North University), and chalk art demos by well-known street artist David Zinn on the sidewalk at S. Fifth Ave. & E. Liberty (1–3 p.m., Thurs. & Sat. with a rain date on Fri.) and Church & South University (4–6 p.m., Fri. with a rain date on Sat.), with chalk available for participation by anyone. 10 a.m.–9 p.m. (Thurs. & Fri.) & 10 a.m.–8 p.m. (Sat.), downtown Ann Arbor.
