“The Addams Family Musical”: Professional Youth Theatre of Michigan
Aug. 30–Sept. 1 and Sept. 6–8. Megan Wright-Jones directs two casts of young local actors in grades 2–12 in a school edition of Marshall Brickman, Rick Elice, and Andrew Lippa’s 2010 comic musical based on the ghoulish, eccentric characters in Charles Addams’ long-running single-panel cartoon series. The plot concerns the troubles that ensue when daughter Wednesday announces her intention to marry a “normal” boyfriend. 7 p.m. (Fri. & Sat.) & 2 p.m. (Sat. & Sun.), Riverside Arts Center, 76 N.
