“R/Evolution!”: U-M Symphony Band

Jason Fettig conducts this music student ensemble in a program highlighted by 20th-century Austrian composer Friedrich Gulda’s Concerto for Cello and Wind Orchestra featuring U-M concerto competition–winning cello soloist Sarina Zhang. Also, a performance of contemporary African American composer Billy Childs’ jazz-tinged saxophone & piano concerto Diaspora featuring acclaimed NYC jazz saxophonist Steve Wilson, along with U-M composition professor Michael Daugherty’s Niagara Falls and contemporary American composer Omar Thomas’s Mother of a Revolution!
