Pioneer Day: The Webster Township Historical Society

In celebration of Dexter’s bicentennial, a chance to walk through Webster Village’s historic buildings (school, blacksmith shop, general store, and barn with a newly completed barn museum) with the guidance of posted docents, and demos of blacksmithing, spinning, weaving, basket weaving, chair caning, and beekeeping. Also, adult- and kid-oriented modern and pioneer-era lawn games, along with readings (at 11 a.m. & 2 p.m.) from Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House on the Prairie. Live music includes a cappella singing by the Huron Valley Harmonizers (10 a.m.noon), classic rock from singer-guitarist Nathan Sweet (12 p.m.), and 60s & 70s rock covers by Paula D. and the Copycats (24 p.m.).
