“Paint the Town Block pARTy”: Ann Arbor Art Fair
Formerly the Townie Street Party, this popular pre–Art Fair community event now includes activities and live music throughout downtown with most events concentrated near the Diag on the corner of S. State and North University. Features participatory art projects, chalk art demos by David Zinn, an instrument petting zoo led by members of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, pickleball & fowling courts, a pop-up mini golf course, street soccer with players from AFC Ann Arbor, live music by the Saline Fiddlers, dancing to music spun by DJ Batz, a silent disco dance party with tunes transmitted to dancer’s headphones (provided), and more. Also “Dart for Art” (6 p.m.), a 1-mile walk/run through downtown ($30 in advance at dartforart.com and at the race; $25 before July 1; $15 for kids age 12 & under).
