La Santa Cecilia: University Musical Society

Named for the patron saint of music, this Grammy-winning L.A.-based pop-rock quartet performs family-friendly bilingual shows that draw on musical traditions from across the Americas and around the world, including cumbia, bossa nova, rumba, bolero, tango, jazz, and klezmer music. Led by singer Marisol Hernandez, the group includes accordionist & guitarist Jose Carlos, percussionist Miguel Ramirez, and bassist Alex Bendaña. Opener: Sonia De Los Santos, an award-winning Mexican children’s music singer-guitarist who is backed by an all-female band in a program of catchy and uplifting original tunes sung in both Spanish and English. 4 p.m. Hill Auditorium.
