“Jorge Luis Borges Gives a Lecture on Anatomy”: Theatre Nova
Every Fri.–Sun., June 6–29. Kat Walsh directs the premiere of Theatre Nova founder Carla Milarch’s play about an imaginary lecture by famed Argentinian writer Jorge Luis Borges. At first, the master of metafiction appears to be discussing anatomy, but that notion quickly gives way as he navigates multiple timelines and universes, in search of the loves of his life. The play is inspired by Borges’s daringly imaginative short stories and features some of his poetry set to music by Michael Riccinto. 8 p.m. (Fri. & Sat.), 3 p.m. (Sat.), and 2 p.m. (Sun.). Theatre Nova, 410 W. Huron St. Tickets $30 (age 65 and older, $25; students with ID, $15 at the door) in advance at theatrenova.org & at the door. (734) 635–8450.
