"Hell No" Rally: National Association of Letter Carriers
Sunday March 23
Letter carriers in Ann Arbor will gather at the federal building, 200 E Libery, to have a rally to save the United States Postal Service. This is a nationwide day of action.
Any efforts to privatize or restructure the Usps is a direct threat to 640,000 postal employees and the universal Service every American relies on. Millions of household and businesses, especially in rural America.
This jeopardize the jobs of 7.9 million people employed by the 1.92 trillion mailing industry
This would reduce services to 51.5 million household and businesses in rural communities, raising their shipping cost and driving inflation higher.
The Postal Service, older than the nation itself, is in shrine in theConstitution. The constitution gives Congress, not the president, a key role of setting postal policy.
Mandated by federal law, the Usps has been an independent, self-sufficient agency for 55 years.
We are fighting to protect the jobs of 640,000 Usps employees including 73,000 veterans. We are fighting to uphold our universal service obligation delivering 376 million pieces of mail and packages to nearly 169 million delivery points!
We hope you will take part in getting this information out to the American citizens.
