Franz Joseph Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass: UMS Choral Union Summer Sings

All singers welcome to join Choral Union director Scott Hanoian in a read-through of Haydn’s “mass for troubled times,” written during the Napoleonic wars and deemed “arguably Haydn’s greatest single composition” by his chief biographer, H.C. Robbins Landon. Participants practice the more difficult parts and, after a break, sing it in its entirety. No auditions required; music provided (or bring your own, if you have it). Refreshments. Registration at 6:30 p.m. 7–9:30 p.m., Hill Auditorium. $5 at the door only. (734) 763–8997.
