Dexter Bicentennial Celebration: Dexter Area Chamber of Commerce
See 20 Thursday. Today only, back-to-back readings of Dayle Ann Hunt’s play KDM: The Katharine Dexter McCormick Project (10 & 11:30 a.m., Encore Musical Theatre Company, 7714 Ann Arbor St.), a work in progress about Dexter native McCormick, a pioneering figure who worked for women’s suffrage, the legalization of contraception, and advancements in endocrinology. Directed by Dan Cooney. The weekend ends with closing ceremonies (5–5:45 p.m.) and speeches TBA at Monument Park in downtown Dexter. 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
