“Dance Variations”: U-M Symphony Band
Jason Fettig and student conductors lead this music student ensemble in Sousa’s popular Washington Post march, Schoenberg’s Theme and Variations, contemporary American composer Theresa Martin’s sparkling City of Ambition, 20th-century German composer Ingolf Dahl’s Sinfonietta, and a band arrangement of the final movement of Rachmaninoff’s electric orchestral masterpiece Symphonic Dances.
