The duo of Takács Quartet violist Richard O’Neill, praised by the New York Times for his “elegant, velvety tone,” and pianist Pauline Martin perform Schubert’s Arpeggione Sonata in A Minor, the only extant substantial composition for the now extinct arpeggione, a sort of bowed guitar.
