Branford Marsalis Quartet: University Musical Society
Three-time Grammy-winning jazz saxophonist and composer Branford Marsalis and his celebrated ensemble make their Ann Arbor debut with their kaleidoscopic array of original compositions and jazz classics. The group is known for its range of moods and melodic strength as well as for the extrasensory communication among its uncommonly consistent personnel, which includes pianist Joey Calderazzo, bassist Eric Revis, and drummer Justin Faulkner. 7:30 p.m., Michigan Theater. Tickets $36–$83 (students, $15–$20) in advance at tickets.ums.org, at the Michigan League, and (if available) at the door. More information at ums.org/wynton. (734) 764–2538.
