Blue Hues and Depot Town Big Band: Ypsi Performance Space
Mark Pappas has been a mainstay and behind-the-scenes hero in the Ypsilanti music scene for years. He is a former instructor at EMU and host of the Old Tower Inn sessions. Mark’s music ranges from edgy sci-fi inspired anthems, to tender waltzes and ballads. This band is finally premiering music as the newly formed Blue Hues Bigband with all new arrangements.
For this Ypsi Space debut we’ll be featuring Ingrid Racine on trumpet and Ann Arbor native Rowan Tucker-Meyer on piano as well as the trombone magic of Detroiter Zoe Cutler. Other featured soloists include UM Professor of Music Andrew Bishop along with Detroit reedist Mark Kieme. Others include Jordan Rattner on guitar, Jon Blanchette on the drums…. and more!
