Annual Hometown Holiday: Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce
Dec. 6–8 and Dec. 14 & 15. A variety of activities, including concerts, Santa visits, crafts, gift wrapping events, and more. Also, all month long, gingerbread house displays in shop windows, with luminaria along Main Street in the evening, and sales with entertainment and refreshments at many stores. Dec. 6: Tree lighting ceremony and Santa’s arrival (6–6:30 p.m., Pierce Park) and a live nativity (7–8:30 p.m., St. Mary Catholic Church, 14200 Old US-12) with hot chocolate and kids activities. Dec. 7: A craft and bake sale (9 a.m.–4 p.m., First Congregational Church, 121 E. Middle), handmade wool and fiber products at The Spinner’s Flock Artisan Market (9 a.m.–4 p.m., Chelsea Fairgrounds, Old US-12 & Old Manchester Rd.), and a light parade (6 p.m., along Main St.) featuring dozens of lighted floats and vehicles, marching bands, Santa, and more. Dec. 8: The Chelsea Community Craft Bazaar (9 a.m.–1 p.m., First Methodist Church, 128 Park St.) and the Hometown Holiday Concert (see 8 Sun. listing). Dec. 14 & 15: The Fishville Farms Christmas Craft & Vendor Show (10 a.m.–4 p.m. Chelsea Fairgrounds, green sports barn) with an array of works by local artisans. Various times. Downtown Chelsea.
