Ann Arbor’s 200th Birthday Celebration: Ann Arbor Bicentennial History Committee/Kempf House/Library Green Conservancy

Emceed by 1290 WLBY radio host Lucy Ann Lance, this celebration of Ann Arbor’s birthday includes short speeches on “What the Bicentennial Means to Me” (1 p.m.) by Washtenaw County Historical Society administrator Bev Willis, Chinese American Society of Ann Arbor cofounder Amy Seetoo, Metzger’s restaurant owner John Metzger, Protectors of Equality in Government founder Charles Newman, Jerusalem Garden restaurant owner and former city council member Ali Ramlawi, U-M modern Greek professor Artemis Leontis, and filmmaker Christina Morales Hemenway. Also, live music by the local Ralph McKee Blues Band (11:15 a.m. & 1:45 p.m.), along with an Ann Arbor Bicentennial Quiz preview (12:30 p.m.) and the kickoff of self-guided smartphone A2 SmartTours, aadl.org/a2st (11:45 a.m.).
