“Angkorian Homecoming: Resettlement and Returning Home”: U-M Stamps School of Art & Design Penny Stamps Speaker Series
Los Angeles-based artist Phung Huynh discusses her Institute for the Humanities exhibit, on view until May 2 (see Galleries). Informed by her experience as a refugee, Huynh’s work explores displacement, assimilation, and cultural identity among Cambodian and Vietnamese refugees who have resettled in the U.S. The exhibit also includes drawings and photographs of sacred Khmer Buddha statue heads that were looted from Cambodia. 5:30 p.m., Michigan Theater.
