15th Annual Ton-Up Motorcycle & Music Festival: Café Racer
Display of motorcycles, mopeds, and scooters, with awards in a variety of different categories at 5:30 p.m. Live music by local bands, including Cowgirl (1 p.m.), an Ypsilanti band that plays twangy Americana-influenced rock ’n’ roll, and Black Jake & the Carnies (2:15 p.m.), a popular Ypsilanti quintet whose self-styled “crabgrass” is an energetic, foot-stomping blend of punk, old-time music, and bluegrass. Also, Bat Hearse (4 p.m.), a Detroit psychobilly band, and ZZvava (5:30 p.m.), a local garage band that plays jangly psychedelic power pop. Emceed by WCBN-FM DJ Del Villarreal. With vendors, food concessions, & raffles. Anyone under 21 must be accompanied by an adult.
