Every Sat., except Nov. 29 (10:15–11:15 a.m.): “Wee-Write with 826 Michigan”: AADL Pittsfield. Kids ages 5–8 invited to work in small groups with adult volunteers to write stories and play creative games. 

Nov. 1 (11–11:45 a.m.): “Dancing Babies”: AADL Downtown. Infants and kids age 5 & under (accompanied by an adult) invited for a program of music and movement. 

Nov. 1 (11:15 a.m.–noon): “Read and Look”: U-M Kelsey Museum of Archaeology. Kelsey staff read the children’s book At Our Table, a portrayal of Thanksgiving that celebrates community, food, and respect for America’s first inhabitants. Nov. 1 (1–2:30 p.m.): “K–5 Turkey Trek”: Ann Arbor Parks & Recreation. Kids ages 4–12, accompanied by an adult, invited to learn about local turkeys and look for fall critters. Nov. 2 (noon–1 p.m.): “Colorful Confetti Coasters”: AADL Pittsfield. A chance for kids grades K–12 to make coasters using confetti & ceramic tiles.

Sun. Nov. 2 & 9 (3–4:30 p.m.) and Wed. Nov. 5 (4–5:30 p.m.): “Nature Play Pop-Ups”: U-M Matthaei Botanical Gardens. Every Mon.–Fri. (different times): Preschool Storytimes: AADL. Half-hour program of stories and songs for kids ages 2–5 (with caregiver). Pittsfield (Mon. 10:30 a.m.), Downtown (Tues. 11 a.m.), Malletts Creek (Tues. 11 a.m. & Wed. 10:30 a.m.), Traverwood (Thurs. 11 a.m., except Nov. 27), and Westgate (Fri. 1 p.m.). 

Every Mon.–Wed. & Fri. (different times): Playgroups for Babies: AADL. Fifteen minutes of stories, rhymes, and songs led by AADL staffers, followed by a short open playtime. For kids up to 24 months (with caregiver). No older siblings. Malletts Creek (Mon. 10:30 a.m., except Nov. 3), Traverwood (Tues. 11 a.m.), Westgate & Pittsfield (Wed. 10:30 a.m.), and Downtown (Fri. 10:30 a.m.). 

Nov. 3 (10:30–11:30 a.m.): “Little Play Date”: AADL Westgate. Open playtime for babies & preschoolers (with caregiver). 

Nov. 4 (1–2:30 p.m.): “HEXBUG Adventures”: AADL Westgate. Kids grades K–5 invited to play with the library’s robotic HEXBUGs in an interactive obstacle course. 

Nov. 4 (2–3:30 p.m.): “Fire Building”: Ann Arbor Parks & Recreation. Kids ages 4–11, accompanied by an adult, invited to learn how to safely make a fire with matches and other fire starters, followed by treats around the fire. Pit toilets only. Every Thurs., except Nov. 27 (10:30–11:30 a.m.): “Little Paws Toddler Time”: HSHV. Stories, crafts, & fingerplays. Also, interaction with adoptable cats and dogs and a chance to make a toy or treat for the animals. For kids ages 2–5, accompanied by an adult. HSHV. $5 (babies under age 1, free). Nov. 10, 12, & 13 (10:30–11 a.m., different branch locations): “Preschool ArtStart”: AADL. AADL staff lead children ages 2–5, accompanied by an adult, in arts and crafts, with an emphasis on the fun of it. AADL Traverwood (Mon.), AADL Pittsfield (Wed.), & AADL Malletts Creek (Thurs.). 

Nov. 7 (11 a.m.–noon): “Peel and Stick Pictures”: AADL Traverwood. A chance for kids grades preK–3 to make pictures out of a variety of self-adhesive craft supplies, including foam shapes, gem stickers, googly eyes, and a wide assortment of stickers. 

Nov. 9 (2–3 p.m.): “Clara’s Dream”: Ballet Chelsea. Hourlong version of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, designed for younger audiences. The show follows the ballet’s protagonist, Clara Stahlbaum, as she embarks on a magical journey with a nutcracker doll she receives from her godfather. The performance features narration and interactive elements in a sensory‑friendly atmosphere with modified lighting, with movement freely allowed. Nov. 9 (2–3 p.m.): “The Sounds and Stories of Africa”: AADL Traverwood. Taylor (MI) storyteller George Oo, who uses the stage name Fishmonger Stories, performs songs and tells stories from various African traditions. Aimed at kids grades K–5. 

Nov. 14 (4–8 p.m.): “Kids Night Out”: Pittsfield Township. All kids in grades K–5 invited for this drop-off event that includes play time outside, games, crafts, a pizza dinner, a movie, and a goodie bag. Dress for the weather. Nov. 14 (5:30–8:30 p.m.): “Pets and Pajamas Movie Night”: HSHV. All kids ages 6–11 invited to watch an animal-themed movie and interact with adoptable pets. Cheese pizza dinner. Nov. 15 (10–11:30 a.m.): “Rescue Reading”: HSHV. Kids ages 6–11 invited to read to adoptable animals to work on their reading skills, using their own or provided books. Nov. 16 (11–11:45 a.m. & noon–12:45 p.m.): “Kids Move!”: AADL Malletts Creek. Local fitness teachers Jesse Deucher & Sarah Kairis lead kids preK & under (11 a.m.) and K–5 (noon) in a sensory-friendly program of music and movement. 

Nov. 16 (11 a.m.–noon): “Fingerprint Necklaces”: AADL Westgate. A chance for kids grades K–5 to make little wearable necklaces out of fingerprint ink, a small charm, and other basic supplies. 

Nov. 16 (11 a.m.–noon): “Fingerpainting Fun!”: AADL Downtown. Kids & toddlers age 10 & under invited to fingerpaint with non-toxic, washable tempera paints. 

Nov. 18 (10:30–11:15 a.m.): “Sensation Stations”: AADL Westgate. Babies and infants age 2 & under, accompanied by an adult, invited to engage their senses by scooping, pouring, shaking, and sorting a variety of materials while exploring colors, shapes, textures, and sounds. 

Nov. 20 (11–11:45 a.m.): “Young Scientists”: AADL Malletts Creek. Science-themed stories and simple science experiments for preschoolers accompanied by a caregiver. 

Nov. 21 (7:15–8:45 p.m.): “Cats and Kids”: Tiny Lions. Kids ages 6–11 (unaccompanied by an adult) invited to spend time with adoptable cats and kittens at the Tiny Lions Lounge. Nov. 22 (11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.): “Both Sides of the Line”: UMMA Family Day/Ann Arbor Parks & Recreation. Children ages 2-5, with a caregiver, can visit stations in the galleries and do activities that emphasize the wonders of shapes and colors. 11:30–1:30 p.m., UMMA, 525 S. State. Free. Nov. 22 (1–2:30 p.m.): “Junior Naturalist: Animal Tracks”: Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission. Kids ages 711 welcome to join naturalist Kelsey Dehring to learn how to identify and look for the clues animals leave behind in the woods, and make an “animal track” to take home. Nov. 23 (2 p.m.): “Stuntboy, in the Meantime”: Theaterworks USA (Michigan Theater Foundation Not Just For Kids Series). This renowned NYC-based children’s theater company presents its premiere production of Melvin Tunstall III’s musical adaptation of Jason Reynolds and Raúl the Third’s graphic novel of the same name, with the performers singing to prerecorded music by Greg Dean Borowsky. The show is about a middle-school boy who lives in a large city apartment building whose superpower is making sure his parents and best friend stay safe. Naturally, he deals with some anxiety. Nov. 22 (1–2 p.m.): Sesame Street Party: AADL Malletts Creek. A chance for kids ages 2–5, accompanied by a caregiver, to listen to songs and make Sesame Street–themed crafts. 

Nov. 22 (1–2 p.m.): “Painting with Pasta”: AADL Pittsfield. Kids grades K–5 invited to make fish skeletons, cars, and other designs out of spaghetti, macaroni, orecchiette, farfalle, and other pasta shapes. 

Nov. 23 (2–3 p.m.): Unicorn Masks: AADL Westgate. A chance for kids grades K–5 to make a unicorn mask out of felt, glittery cardstock, sparkly jewels, and other craft supplies. 

Nov. 23 (2–3 p.m.): “Make a Stress Ball for Less Stress”: AADL Pittsfield. Kids grades K–8 invited to learn new ways to cope with stress and make a DIY rubber stress ball. 

Nov. 25 (7–7:30 p.m.): “Folktales from Around the World”: AADL Traverwood. AADL storytellers tell folktales and fairytales from around the world. Aimed at kids grades preK–2. 

Nov. 26 (noon–1 p.m.): “Domino Days”: AADL Traverwood. A chance for kids grades K–5 to play with the library’s dominoes. 

Nov. 28 (1–2 p.m.): Mermaid Sparkle Wands: AADL Traverwood. Kids grades K–5 invited to decorate a sparkly seashell or starfish wand fit for a mermaid. 

Nov. 30 (3–4 p.m.): “DIY Stamps”: AADL Malletts Creek. A chance for kids grades preK–5 to use foam shapes to make their own rubber stamps. 

Nov. 29 & 30 (noon–3 p.m.): “Critters Up Close!”: Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum. Leslie Science & Nature Center staff show live animals TBA. Also, animal-oriented hands-on activities for all ages.
