Kate Melcher to Receive the Outstanding Women in American History Award
On May 19 Saline's own Kate Melcher will receive an Outstanding Women in American History Award for her dedicated service to our nation. The Sarah Caswell Angell Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is proud to pay tribute to Ms. Melcher for her commitment to public service by presenting the award and by placing her name in nomination for the DAR's national award. Prior to her current position as Executive Director of Fisher House Michigan she was an Army AH-64D Apache Longbow Helicopter Gunship pilot, and a Legislative Liaison Officer for the US Army National Guard. And, before her military service she held a research and speech writing position with the Supreme Court of the United States and was a senior staff to three different US Senators.
