U-M Museum of Natural History Planetarium & Dome Theater

Three different audiovisual planetarium shows suitable for all ages, including the debut of T.REX (2 p.m.), which explores the iconic dinosaur in scientific and cinematic history and contains scenes of dinosaur violence. Also, Sea Monsters (noon) follows a curious dolichorhynchops (an extinct species of marine reptile) as she travels through the most dangerous oceans in history. The Sky Tonight (1 & 3 p.m.) is an exploration of the current night sky, with tips on how to find the cardinal directions, constellations, and planets on your own. “West Side Story”: The Encore Musical Theatre Company

Michael Berry directs this local professional company in Arthur Laurents’s spirited 1957 musical adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, set in 1950s New York and featuring rival street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds: the largely nativist White Jets, and the Sharks, recent immigrants from Puerto Rico. The work explores themes of racial conflict, pursuit of the American dream, and the struggle to assimilate while maintaining cultural identity.
