As I am a confirmed shopper continually looking for retail therapy, I am also perusing my closet which is over flowing with interesting items. Since the Pandemic it seems that many of us are wearing more casual comfortable outfits and are leaving our former clothes hanging in the closet.
The shutdown and staying at home allowed us time to think about our lifestyles and make changes in our preferences. Dressy clothes seem to have vanished from our lives except for holidays and special events. Sneakers and flip flops are now the most popular shoe, and the younger generations have embraced combat boots for any and all occasions. High heels are still popular with those brave souls who can maneuver them on stairs and over rough pavements.
My closet has items with tags still attached. Unfortunately, when I check the internet, it seems that my clothes have just gone out of style in favor of the latest trendy fashions. Also, I’ve found that many of my items can be too vintage for the vintage stores. Some gurus seem to be deciding what we are to wear in order to stay current. I wonder what happened to dressing for your age or lifestyle?
Oh well, life goes on, and we’ll soon see what new normal will emerge.
Maybe the resale and thrift shops will love my former favorites.
To use my favorite expression—“It is what it Is!”
