On a COLD walk home today, I was stopping in every warm and cheery looking store down Liberty, and there were lots. Perhaps the most crazy fun last-minute gifts for food-loving folks could be found at Acme Mercantile http://www.acmemercantile.com/ on Liberty between Main and Ashley. Consider the huge utensil-spiked clocks, or nesting babushka measuring cups and spoons, or peace sign cake pans, or hilarious cookie cutters of fighting ninjas and “ABC” gingerbread (as in Already Been Chewed, creating cookie people with bites out of various appendages, including the head!)
Or there are local cookbooks and Michigan agritourism books at Borders (take a sharp left as you enter the front door.
Or how about gift certificates for local restaurants? There’s a warm thought.
