Two talks, one before and one after a luncheon. Historian Scott Ellsworth discusses “Midnight on the Potomac: The Last Year of the Civil War, the Lincoln Assassination, and the Rebirth of America” (11 a.m.), and Greenfield Village director Jim Johnson presents “Sneak Peek of the Jackson Home at Greenfield Village” (12:45 p.m.), a talk on the restoration of the Jackson family home, opening in 2026, where Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. stayed and strategized during the 1965 Selma marches. 11 a.m.–1 p.m., First Presbyterian Church social hall, 1432 Washtenaw. Free ($15 for the catered Mexican lunch at noon).
