Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival in Residence: Kerrytown Concert House
June 13 & 20 (different programs). Nationally known musicians and ensembles present 2 chamber concerts. Part of a larger festival that includes performances in several other towns May 10–June 21 (see greatlakeschambermusic.org for full schedule). Tonight’s performers, in various combinations, include pianist Stephanie Tang, violinist Philip Setzer, violist Dillon Scott, cellist Edward Arron, the London-based Paddington Trio (Tang, violinist Tuulia Hero, and cellist Patrick Moriarty), and Boston-based Trio Dolce (pianist April Lee, violinist Célina Béthoux, and cellist Lexine Feng). Program: Bach’s magnificent and undervalued Sonata for Viola da Gamba in G major and Shostakovich’s Piano Quintet in G minor, an enormous public success when it debuted in 1940. 7:30–10 p.m., KCH, 415 N.
