Klezmer Fusion Band: First Presbyterian Church Open Doors Creative Arts Series
This local band, led by vocalist-guitarist Neil Alexander, performs danceable music derived from traditional klezmer, Israeli, and religious music mixed with modern jazz, Latin, and rock rhythms. The group uses both traditional folk instruments, such as mandolin, clarinet, and acoustic guitar, and a modern jazz rhythm section that includes keyboards, bass, and drums. 4 p.m., First Presbyterian Church, 1432 Washtenaw Ave. Free, donations accepted. firstpresbyterian.org.
