Growing Michigan Wildflowers: Seeds To Community

Using community collected wildflower seeds, this event will allow anyone to plant and take home their own selection of species that will sprout and grow outdoors as Spring temperatures arrive.
This event will focus on Winter Sowing, one of the easiest ways to grow beautiful plants that are habitat friendly for your landscape. Community members have been collecting, sharing and preparing the seeds of 150 native wildflower species so that we all can grow them. These plants attract the pollinators, butterflies, and birds of our neighborhoods. We hope you will try it out and experience growing Michigan in your own space.
This community event is donation based, open to the public, and is one of the warmest ways you can spend a weekend in January.
Got a few friends and a community project for the Spring? This is a great way to source your plants and get close to nature at the same time. All ages welcome to attend this community activity.
