Martha Graham Dance Company: University Musical Society

Feb. 17 & 18. Founded in 1926 and arguably the world’s most celebrated modern dance company, this troupe pairs Graham classics with new works by contemporary choreographers. Both nights, they perform Agnes DeMille’s 1942 classic Rodeo, with its iconic score by Aaron Copland reorchestrated for a bluegrass ensemble, as well as a new work by Jamar Roberts set to music by the renowned singer-songwriter, composer, and string player Rhiannon Giddens. Also, on Feb. 13 (6 p.m., Cahoots, 206 E. Huron), troupe members TBA lead a workshop on the history and importance of the Graham technique ($18, preregistration required at tickets.ums.org/6092). 7:30 p.m., Power Center.
