“A Little Night Music”: U-M Musical Theatre Department

Apr. 18–21. Musical theater students perform Stephen Sondheim’s sophisticated Tony Awardwinning 1973 musical comedy, adapted from Ingmar Bergman’s film Smiles of a Summer Night. The story concerns 3 mismatched couples, each of whom finally ends up with the right partner as they discover their true desires during a weekend together in the country. The memorable and enchanting waltz-filled score includes “Send in the Clowns,” “A Weekend in the Country,” “Later,” and other favorites. 7:30 p.m. (Thurs.), 8 p.m. (Fri. & Sat.), & 2 p.m. (Sun.), Power Center.
