Loneliness is such a part of our daily modern lives, yet there is a whole living world awaiting our return. We are taught to focus on our individuality, yet it is through our connections with others that we know and feel ourselves more deeply. Being in nature calms our nervous systems and gives an embodied sense of right relationship with the more than human world. In this one day experiential gathering, we come together to create a temporary village and build a community of care. Using modern grief work, writing, small groups, time in nature and guided journeys, we will reconnect with our capacity to be in relationship with our inner selves and the more than human world.

Cemetery Restoration Volunteer Event

Cemetery Restoration Volunteer Event: Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) & Sons of the American Revolution (SAR)
More

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) have selected an abandoned cemetery, Popkins Cemetery (Honey Creek Dr. and Pratt Road intersection) for restoration. Boy Scout Troop #5 will be assisting with this project. This initiative comes in anticipation of celebrations commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026. There are several American Revolution War Veterans buried throughout Washtenaw County and the local DAR and SAR chapters have been working together to mark their graves. Popkins Cemetery is nestled among neighborhoods on Pratt Road and holds historical significance as the final resting place of American Revolutionary War Patriot Sylvester Richmond who passed in 1832 and was the first to buried at Popkins Cemetery. He worked for James and Mary Popkins, who allotted some of their land as a cemetery. The cemetery has 13 graves and sadly has endured significant damage and neglect over the years.

To kickstart the restoration efforts, we are organizing the first clean-up event, now scheduled for May 4th (with a rain date of May 11th) at 10:00am to 2:00pm. We are calling upon volunteers who are passionate about preserving our heritage and honoring those who have contributed to our nation’s history. If you would like to contribute your time and effort to this noble cause, please reach out to Denise Frost at dmfrost@comcast.net for further details and to register your interest.

On Pratt Road at intersection of Honey Creek Road, Ann Arbor, MI ,Scio Township, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Free. dmfrost@comcast.net sca-dar.com 734-646-1425.

Didgeridoo Sound Bath Workshop w/ Harper and Midwest Kind: Verapose Yoga House
More

Award winning Australian musicians (14x music awards in 4 countries) and sound healers Peter D. Harper and Bobbi Llewellyn- Harper present a workshop about the ancient Australian Aboriginal wind instrument called the “Didgeridoo” (Yidaki / Mako). The Husband and wife team will discuss the many types of didgeridoos available, how they are made, played and their use in Indigenous ceremonies and healing.

Didgeridoo sound healing therapy is a profound form of vibrational healing. The sonic vibrations release physical pain, grief, loss, stress and emotional blockages. Tune into your truth and become your sound. Peter and Bobbi use didgeridoo sound vibration, color cards and vocal intonations to focus on each participant exploring the 7 chakras or 7 planet energy centers. The sound healing works on each individual person with the didgeridoo clearing dark / grey frequencies in problem areas.

After a short intermission, a sound bath presentation will follow. A sound bath with the Didgeridoo is a powerful and uplifting meditational experience. A sound bath session can expose emotions that need to be cleared. The Didgeridoo has been used for thousands of years to help the Aboriginal people of Australia to find their way across the land as they literally sing manifestation into existence. Everything is frequency and so when they tune into the frequency of the land, they manifest what they need. Therefore the Didgeridoo shows us who we really are and what is our truth. The low frequency range alters our brainwaves to a state of deep relaxation through what is known as brainwave entrainment. The sound can be felt and heard and works on all levels to bring you back to a state of what is natural.
