“Battle of Waterloo Triathlon”: Epic Races
All invited to compete in a 5- or 10-leg triathlon of swimming, biking, and running spread over a 42-mile course of remote paved roads, winding dirt lanes, steep trails, and lakes. “Weekend Walk for Birds at Gallup Park”: Washtenaw Audubon Society

Volunteer Stewardship Workday: Ann Arbor Natural Area Preservation Division
July 15, 22, & 30. All invited to help maintain natural areas and remove invasive plants in various city parks. Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes and bring heavy gloves; tools, snacks, & know-how provided. Minors must be accompanied by a guardian. U-M Museum of Natural History Science Forum Demos
Every Sat. & Sun. (except July 1 & 2). U-M Museum of Natural History Planetarium & Dome Theater
Every Fri.–Sun. Three different audiovisual planetarium shows suitable for all ages. Sea Monsters (12:30 p.m.) follows an aquatic dolichorhynchops, or “dolly,” as she travels through the prehistoric ocean, encountering plesiosaurs, sharks, giant fish, and more. The Sky Tonight (1:30 & 3:30 p.m.) is an exploration of the current night sky, with tips on how to find the cardinal directions, constellations, and planets on your own. We Are Stars (2:30 p.m.) explores the secrets of our cosmic chemistry and our explosive origins, connecting life on Earth to the evolution of the universe. “Creature Encounters”: The Creature Conservancy

“A Jukebox for the Algonquin”: Purple Rose Theatre Company

When a small group of residents decides that they’re not quite ready to “go gentle into that good night,” the former New York City dwellers hatch a plot to prove that fading quietly away is not a requirement of aging.
