Every day, May 1–June 21. Three pianos painted by U-M students are available at different locations throughout Ann Arbor for anyone to play an impromptu concert. On May 1, world-renowned local boogie-woogie & blues pianist Mark “Mr. B” Braun plays a concert at each of the 3 locations. Also, scheduled concerts by local pianists TBA every Wednesday and Saturday (see a2sf.org). The project culminates with a grand finale piano trio performance on June 21 at Top of the Park. Scheduled concerts begin at noon, Ann Arbor Farmers Market; 2:30 p.m., Michigan Theater; 5 p.m., U-M Shapiro Undergrad Library, 919 South University. Free. (734) 994–5999.

Matthaei Botanical Gardens is hosting free guided nature walks on select Wednesdays and Sundays. These walks are FREE, no registration is required.

MBG Wonder Walks are designed for all ages to inspire curiosity and learning from each other through activities that model curiosity and honor nature. If we have a sizeable mixed-age group, we may separate into two sets to offer the same content at different levels of engagement.

Wednesday walks begin at 5:30 pm. Sunday walks begin at 1:00 pm. We recommend gathering inside the lobby of Matthaei Botanical Gardens about 10 minutes before the start.

Two Palestinian poets, Khaled Juma’a and Yousef el Qedra, read (via Zoom) from Gaza. Juma’a was born in Rafah and raised in a Gaza refugee camp. His 29 publications range from poetry to prose, short stories, children’s stories, plays, and songs. He gives a bilingual reading of his expressive metaphor-filled work. El Qedra, a poet, novelist, and playwright, expresses the emotional effects of living in Gaza in his lyrical, emotional poems. Tonight, he reads them in Arabic, accompanied by English translations.
