Blink, and it seems like you’d miss this holiday season. It feels like Thanksgiving was yesterday, Hanukkah flew by, and now Christmas is on top of us. Yet, Ann Arbor still sparkles with glowing lights, eye-catching decorations, and most of all, festive windows painted by the Brush Monkeys.

This year, the all-weather artists painted seventy-five storefronts and businesses in Ann Arbor, and another eighty-six across Southeast Michigan, says Mary Thiefels, managing partner of Brush Monkeys and Tree Town Murals. (Brush Monkeys was featured in this WEMU-FM report a year ago.)

Here are some views around town, with photos by the Observer’s LR Nuñez and me. Everyone here wishes you a wonderful holiday. Next week, we’ll bring you a special year-end issue looking at how Ann Arbor changed in 2021.
