Local guitar genius Bedard leads a band of veteran local musicians in the 9th concert in his popular series exploring the history of American roots music. Tonight they explore the roots of country music icon Johnny Cash in gospel, early country music, and the blues before showcasing some of Cash’s own great Sun and Columbia recordings from the 50s and 60s. Bedard is joined by singer Tracy Lee Komarmy, his bandmate in the all-star local rock ‘n’ roll band Tracy Lee & the Leonards, in a revival of some classic Johnny Cash/June Carter duets. With drummer Rich Dishman, bassist Pat Prouty, and Kentucky Chrome rhythm guitarist Lance Hulsey, who also plays lap steel and provides backup vocals. $25.
