“Olivia Van Goor Sings Ella Fitzgerald”: Kerrytown Concert House
This rising young Detroit-area jazz singer & composer leads her ensemble in a concert dedicated to the swing-era jazz legend dubbed the “first lady of song,” renowned for her impeccable swing timing, intonation, and virtuosic scat singing. The program includes songs from the entirety of Fitzgerald’s expansive career, from hits like “Oh, Lady Be Good” and “How High the Moon” to obscure gems. With pianist Mike Harrison, bassist Reuben Stump, and drummer Dave Zwolinski. 2–4 p.m., KCH, 415 N.
