“Octavia E. Butler’s Parable of the Sower”: Parable Path A2Ypsi/University Musical Society.:

Mar. 25-27. This gospel/blues/funk opera, adapted by Sweet Honey in the Rock founder Bernice Johnson Reagon and her daughter Toshi Reagon from Butler’s dystopian novel, chronicles the spiritual awakening of a young black woman in an America that struggles with violence and inequality.
