National Arab Orchestra: University Musical Society
Originally scheduled for a Hill Auditorium debut in March 2021, this Detroit-based orchestra, co-founded by conductor & music director Michael Ibrahim in 2009 as a U-M student ensemble, performs a program of pieces from the traditional classical canon of Arab music as well as works by contemporary Arab composers. With Lebanese singer Abeer Nehme, a popular performer across the Arab world, and the UMS Choral Union, directed by Scott Hanoian. 8 p.m., Hill Auditorium.
